'E-Moto' - Stark Motorcycles x 3 Bros Dealership Demo Day with Moto Fit Club

Moto Fit Club's very own Brittany Marcotte had the chance to ride the latest Stark electric motorcycle on Tuesday, providing a unique perspective on the future of 'E-Moto'...

3 Bro’s Dealership hosted their second Stark Demo Day at Fox Raceway, and I couldn't wait to see if the Stark Varg 1.2 model is really that ‘electrifying’. There’s a wide range of features available (literally) at your fingertips, from fine-tuning mapping to adjusting the power modes. Revving in at ~80hp, the Stark Varg supersedes a traditional dirt bike, which usually has 20-30hp. The power band is very smooth, which was a pleasant surprise considering other e-motorcycles I've ridden feel very ‘on & off’ with the throttle; ultimately making more technical riding easier.

The Stark Varg 1.2 sits just under 38" tall which is comparable to most 250cc motorcycles on the market. The hand brakes were a challenge at first, since Stark doesn't run a traditional rear braking system located at your feet, but it was easily adaptable. In fact, I found it fun to ride something so different. The benefit? Having both front and rear brakes on my handlebars allowed me to stand much longer through ruts and even aided in balance throughout the corner.

The weight of the Stark Varg 1.2 is about 260lbs, coming in a bit heavier than a traditional motorcycle (usually weighing in at ~235lbs). The benefit? It felt lighter than my Husqvarna FC 250! Most of the weight sits center of the bike, making it feel pretty agile on the track. I felt like I could maneuver the bike wherever I wanted without fighting any weight or imbalance. The rear end did feel a bit light, but still handled well in the dry, slick spots on the track.

Overall, the Stark Varg 1.2 was very fun to ride, and easy to adjust to! These e-motorcycles have considerably less maintenance needs than a traditional motorcycle. I would consider this a great beginner bike for those who are new to the dirt bike world.

Don’t miss the next Stark demo ride with 3 Bro’s, Saturday, April 4th back at Fox Raceway!
